Mango Ginger Turmeric Super Greens Smoothie

Just like it's name, this smoothie is PACKED with nutrients to fuel your morning.

I love the immune boosting kick from the ginger and turmeric. The greens are a surefire way to make sure you're getting your veggie quotient. And the kefir makes sure your tummy is happy with good for your digestion probiotics.

Whenever I know I'm going to have a less than stellar eating day, I always make sure to pack huge nutrition into my breakfast. 

The one thing this smoothie doesn't have is a lot of protein, so I usually pair it with eggs or almond butter on sprouted grain toast.  You could also add a scoop of your favorite plant-based protein powder too!

Mango Ginger Turmeric Super Greens Smoothie

Serves 1

1/4 cup kefir or yogurt
1/2 cup raw coconut water
1/2 cup frozen mango chunks
1 Tbs. hemp seeds
1 tsp. chia seeds
1-2 tsp. super greens powder (optional, I like this brand)
1-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled
1/2 tsp. turmeric powder (or 1/2-inch fresh turmeric root, peeled)
1 very large handful baby spinach

Place all ingredients into your blender and puree until thick and smooth. If you don't have a high-speed blender, I find that blending the spinach and ginger with the coconut water first helps to make a smoother consistency. 

For a sweeter smoothie, feel free to add more mango, half a frozen banana, or a drop of pure stevia extract.
